Every two years, the ÖH elections take place, where students can elect their representatives for the coming term of office. The choice can be made on three different levels:
Student Representation (StV) Representation of the students of a degree programme or department. First point of contact for all questions, uncertainties or problems in a degree programme. The election of the StV is a Personal election. This means that each person can run and be elected on his or her own.
University Representation (HV) Representation of all students at a university, with overall responsibility for the individual units and student representatives as well as concerns that affect all students at the university. The election of the AGM is a List election - that is, electoral groups or factions run, not individuals. In the election, one can give a vote to one of these groups.
Federal Representation (BV) Representation of all students in Austria. The BV election is also a List electionThis means that here, too, groups or parliamentary groups are running for election, not individuals. In the election, one can give a vote to one of these groups.
