Winter semester 2021/2022 starts in presence!
The effects of the Covid 19 pandemic have affected, influenced and in some cases changed all of us in various areas of our lives. Above all, however, the pandemic has affected the last three semesters, beginning in March 2020, in that studying was no longer possible in the usual environment. Courses were held online, face-to-face teaching was the exception, exchange and togetherness were clearly in short supply and many started their studies at Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences during the pandemic and were not at all familiar with "normal operations" or had already completed their studies without seeing each other again.
Presence possible again from September thanks to 3G proof
In a broadcast to all students Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences yesterday announced the procedure for the winter semester 2021/2022 (September 2021 to February 2022), which will start soon, and explained the corresponding underlying concept.
First of all, the good news: Classroom teaching with full lecture halls and normal laboratory and seminar operation will be possible again!
The concept developed by Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences and presented yesterday makes it possible to resume study operations in attendance in time for the start of the semester at the beginning of September, while at the same time ensuring everyone's safety in the best possible way. An excerpt of the most important rules and innovations are briefly and concisely listed below:
- "3G or FFP2 mask" applies to students, lecturers and staff throughout the campus.
- The 3G proof is voluntary - those who cannot or do not want to show any of the 3Gs must wear an FFP2 mask at all times on a mandatory basis
- Where appropriate, selected courses will continue to be offered online via Microsoft Teams
- Access for all persons to the campus is possible again without a Campus Card
- In the foyer of Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences, the test lane with antigen self-tests is still available for all students, lecturers and employees, which are valid for 24 hours after they have been carried out.
All information in detail can be found on the always up-to-date Covid-19 information page .
Close cooperation between Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences and the ÖH
The ÖH at Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences, the chair team and the Body of University Representatives are in regular contact with the rectorate of the university and discuss the current situation regarding the events on site and the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
We welcome the steps that have now been announced and are all already looking forward to the resumption of broad-based attendance with a set of rules that is easy to implement for all students, teachers and staff and guarantees the best possible security. We will continue to be in contact with Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences and strive to ensure that the coming semesters are planned in the best possible way and implemented and carried out in the sense of optimal study operations for us students.
Both the university itself and we too are always available for questions, comments, criticism and feedback and hope to be able to support you in the best possible way.
We look forward to seeing you!
The university corridors have been empty in recent semesters. We are therefore pleased that most of the courses will be held again in autumn 2021 in presence and we can welcome you back to the halls and corridors of the university. As announced in July, everyone should have received their voucher for 10 euros by now, which can finally be redeemed soon!
We wish you a good start to the coming semester and look forward to welcoming you with great new offers!
